Welcome to Siem Reap! The lands of magical wonders of Angkor Wat and more…
Welcome to Siem Reap!
Siem Reap, a tourism town in northwestern Cambodia, is the gateway to the ruins of Angkor, the center of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th–15th centuries. Angkor’s giant complex of meticulous stone buildings includes famous Angkor Wat, the main temple, which is pictured on Cambodia’s flag. Giant, mysterious faces are carved into the Bayon Temple at Angkor Thom.
Siem Reap is one of those places that caters to every taste. It’s difficult to get bored in this attractive little city. The variety of cuisine, accommodation, shopping, modes of transport, and daily activities is quite amazing for what is actually a relatively small city on the edge of the Tonle Sap Lake.

Highlight destination
Angkor Archeological Park
Angkor Complex is 6 km from the centre of Siem Reap, Cambodia. It contains the remains of Khmer from the 9th to 15th centuries, was stated a World Heritage site in 1992 and has been protected by UNESCO. This Angkor Complex is not only a point of pilgrimage of all Cambodians but also a popular destination of travellers.
It is said that Angkor used to be the largest pre-industry city in the world. The temples of Angkor has the areas of over one thousand and are highly symbolic structures with the perfect fusion of creation and spiritual devotion. Many of the temples have been restored, but still keep the most significant Khmer structures.
Tonle Sap Lake
Tonle Sap Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Also called Boeung Tonle Sap, it has one of the world’s most vibrant ecosystems. There are different species of wildlife in and around the lake, which helped to sustain and grow the ancient Khmer civilisation. It’s also famous for its fascinating local communities and their floating villages.
Located in Siem Reap, the massive lake is 250 km in length and 100 km across at its widest point, making it seem like an inland ocean because it is impossible to see the opposite shore from ground level. Surprisingly, it’s fairly shallow, with a maximum depth of only 10 metres.
