After breakfast, visit Wat Sene, Luang Prabang’s oldest monastery, before exploring the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, considered the finest example of classical Lao temple architecture. Admire its graceful rooflines and the famous “Tree of Life” mosaic crafted from coloured glass.

Next, board a traditional boat for a scenic cruise upstream along the Mekong River, passing peaceful villages and beautiful countryside.

Visit the sacred Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of Buddha statues placed by pilgrims over many centuries. On the way, stop at Ban Xang Hai, a riverside village famous for producing traditional Lao rice whisky (Lao Lao).

Begin at Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in Vientiane, famous for its thousands of miniature Buddha images.

Continue to Haw Phra Kaew (formerly the Royal Temple), originally built to house the revered Emerald Buddha and now serving as a museum of religious art.

Next, visit Pha That Luang, the national symbol of Laos and the country’s most sacred Buddhist monument.

En route, stop at the iconic Patuxai Victory Monument, often referred to as the “Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane,” for photographs.

If your flight schedule permits, enjoy time to browse the Morning Market (Talat Sao) or visit Ban Nong Bouathong, a traditional weaving village renowned for its handcrafted Lao silk (closed on weekends and public holidays).
